Fibreglass Pool Osmosis and Blisters
What blistering may indicate and why the extent should be assessed before choosing a repair.
Begin with the existing condition
Pool construction, finish, age, dimensions, access and repair history all affect the answer. Record where the symptom appears, when it began and whether it changes while the circulation system runs.
Why inspection matters
A worn coating may be primarily cosmetic, while cracks, blisters, delamination or ongoing water loss can require additional investigation. Preparation is not interchangeable between fibreglass, concrete, painted and aggregate surfaces. Compatible methods and materials matter.
Factors that influence scope
- Pool size, shape, depth and safe access
- Extent of deterioration or hidden damage
- Repairs around fittings, penetrations and waterline
- Selected finish and required curing conditions
- Coping, tile and equipment work coordinated with resurfacing
Questions worth asking
Ask what evidence supports the proposed repair, how preparation will address the existing finish, which related defects are included, what curing and refill steps apply, and what ongoing water-balance instructions must be followed.
